Dr. Don Patterson Awarded GCxGC Scientific Achievement Award

Dr. Don Patterson, Principal Scientist in Exponent's Environmental and Earth Sciences Practice has been awarded the first-ever GCxGC Scientific Achievement Award.  The  award, presented by CASSS, an International Separation Science Society.  This award has been instituted to recognize the pioneering contributions of key scientists in promoting GCxGC instrumentation, method development and/or applications.    Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) is a technique that is ideally applied to the separation of complex mixtures of volatile and semi-volatile compounds.  Dr. Patterson has contributed to this emerging technology since 1991. 

CASSS is the premier non-profit scientific society providing forums for the dissemination of information and discussions among industry, academic and regulatory professionals founded on the development and applications of separation science.  Dr. Patterson will give a plenary lecture and receive his award at their 8th GCxGC Symposium in May.
