Valve Reliability and Inspection Programs

Plant valve engineers are risk managers who safeguard the reliability of critical valve populations to assist utilities in operating safely and cost effectively. Achieving sustainable long-term health of plant assets and profitability hinges on the development and implementation of cost effective maintenance programs. Several industry initiatives developed over a period of years suggest certain generally accepted best engineering practices. Regardless of the regulatory or elective best practice flavor of the year – certain program elements are vital to ensuring a sound and stable basis for maintaining the integrity of plant assets.

A holistic plan that includes a relative ranking based on importance, suitable engineering evaluation that examines expected failure modes, condition monitoring that helps detect incipient failure conditions, preventative predictive, and corrective maintenance, and other factors is needed.

The objective of this webinar is to provide a discussion of these topics, which will allow attendees to perform a quick self evaluation of their internal strengths and points of improvement in their programs, and to assess and communicate to management the attendant risks of the status quo.

Speaker: Vinod Sharma, P.E.
