Stig Nilsson has been selected to receive the Power & Energy Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Nari Hingorani FACTS Award. The award is given to individuals who have made a major contribution to the state of the art of FACTS ("Alternating Current Transmission Systems incorporating power electronics-based and other static controllers to enhance controllability and power transfer capability") technologies and their applications.
