Exponent Engineers Provide Advice on Contactless Pickpocketing

Regarding ID magazine, an industry leading publication covering the areas of identification technologies and security, recently quoted “a team of experts at Exponent” concerning the feasibility of stealing payment and other information via the RFID interface of current payment and identification credentials. The team referred to in the article are Brad McGoran, Yakov Shkolnikov, Max Klein, and John Fessler. The article titled, “Truth or Fiction: Contactless Pickpocketing” was published in the printed and online versions of Regarding ID magazine and was disseminated at the recent Annual Smart Card Alliance meeting in Chicago.
