Exponent Engineers Receive IEEE Awards

Drs. Yakov Shkolnikov and Shukri Souri received 2010 Institute of Electrical and Electronics (IEEE) Region 1 Awards at a ceremony in New York City on February 12, 2011. Dr. Shkolnikov received the Technological Innovation Award, for the Development of Mathematical Methods for Computing Ground-Penetrating Radar to Detect Land Mines. Dr. Souri received the Managerial Excellence Award for Managerial Excellence in Effective Coaching and Project Management of Reliable Materials and Devices.

The IEEE is a non-profit professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation related to electricity. It has more than 395,000 members in more than 160 countries. The purpose of the Region 1 Awards Program is to provide recognition of a professional achievement, whether technical, educational or in service to the IEEE; and to provide high visibility to other engineers, employers, and the public.
