International Oil Spill Conference (IOSC) 2011
May 23 – 26, 2011
The International Oil Spill Conference
will be held in Portland, Oregon May 23–26, 2011. The conference’s theme of “Promoting the Science of Spill Response” continues the long tradition of the IOSC in providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and lessons learned from actual spill responses and research around the world.
The International Oil Spill Conference contributes to and enables a culture of preparedness within the oil spill response community, the broader field of incident management, and society as a whole. It provides a forum for professionals from the international community, the private sector, government, and non-governmental organizations to highlight and discuss innovations and best practices across the spectrum of prevention, preparedness, response, and restoration Exponent will be presenting several poster and platform sessions
Exponent scientists have more than 40 years of global experience in consulting on scientific aspects of oil spill tracking and response, assessing the environmental impacts associated with oil spills, investigating the root causes of spills, and providing technical support to attorneys on environmental and natural resource damage claims. We have communicated the results of our work to lay audiences and to the scientific community through numerous peer-reviewed publications. In addition, our scientists have supported international government entities in responding to and assessing spill impacts.
