Exponent Scientist to Participate in US Government Consortium Workshop

Dr. Art Miller, Senior Managing Scientist, Center for Chemical Regulation and Food Safety, has been invited to participate in the U.S. Government's Interagency Risk Assessment Consortium (IRAC) work shop on, “Research Needs Prioritization for Conducting a Quantitative Risk Assessment of E. coli O157:H7 in Leafy Greens,” to be held in College Park, Maryland from July 8 to 9, 2008. Dr. Miller was chosen for his expertise in risk assessment and produce research issues. The objective of this meeting is to identify and prioritize research data gaps for conducting a risk assessment of E.coli O157:H7 foodborne illness from the consumption of leafy green vegetables. IRAC includes 17 federal agencies with food safety missions. Members include the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Department of Defense, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Commerce, and the Department of Agriculture, who serve on the organizing committee for this workshop.
