Home: About: NASCRAC Software

The NASCRAC software is a general purpose fracture mechanics tool. Originally developed by Exponent (formerly Failure Analysis Associates) for the Marshall Space Flight Center of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the software and support is now available by license from Exponent. The NASCRAC program is a versatile, user-oriented code that is currently being utilized to solve linear and nonlinear fracture mechanics problems in industries such as aerospace, petro-chemical, power generation, defense, and transportation. Capabilities include evaluation of stress intensity factors, J-integrals, fatigue crack growth, creep crack growth, and stress corrosion cracking.
Built-in material properties library
Comprehensive crack geometry solution library
Easy data entry, such as univariate and bivariate stress tables
Online documentation includes Users and Theory manuals
Wide range of results plotting options

NASCRACTechnical support for the NASCRAC software is provided by engineers at Exponent who have extensive experience in fracture mechanics, failure analysis, and failure prevention.

Hands-on training seminars can be arranged either at Exponent or at your own site.
