"Science stacks up for flavonoids for heart health"
Exponent scientists Pamela J. Mink, Ph.D., M.P.H., Carolyn G. Scrafford, M.P.H., and Leila M. Barraj, D.Sc. were recently featured in an article based on their analysis of flavonoid intakes and heart disease in NutraIngredients-USA.com. The results of the study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (March 2007), show that high dietary intake of several classes of flavonoids can reduced the risk of mortality from cardiovascular disease (CVD), coronary heart disease (CHD) and all causes combined.
