Dr. Jackson-Gheissari has almost 18 years experience working in regulatory affairs for the agrochemical, chemical, and biocide industries. She worked for the UK’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for the first 3 years of her career, where she was responsible for government funding of science programmes at UK universities and research institutes in the fields of food safety, food processing and food quality. She also provided the technical secretariat for several UK trade associations, representing the groups at EU level within their European counterparts. Dr. Jackson-Gheissari is an ecotoxicologist by training and her technical specialty is in regulatory ecotoxicology. She has experience in registering and supporting registrations for insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides in the fields of crop protection, home-garden uses and professional product uses. She was a member of both the PWG (Pyrethroid Working Group) and ERAOWG (Environmental Risk Analysis Oversight Working Group) in the US between 2002 and 2004. Since early 2004, Dr. Jackson-Gheissari has developed her expertise in project management. She has successfully managed several review and new compounds through the EPA and EU registration systems and most recently evaluated compounds for REACH and for potential OECD work-sharing.
