"The Center for Toxicology & Mechanistic Biology offers a stimulating environment for you to stay connected to important developments in the field of toxicology and apply your knowledge to real-world issues."
-- Joyce S. Tsuji, DABT, FATS
Principal Scientist
"The professionals in our Center have experience in government, industry and academia. That diversity of training and experience allows us to work on complex and interesting problems in toxicology, risk assessment and regulation."
-- James C. Lamb, IV, Ph.D., DABT, Fellow ATS
Principal Scientist & Center Director
The Center for Toxicology & Mechanistic Biology is part of Exponent's Health Sciences Group, and our team includes professionals in general and environmental toxicology, occupational medicine, clinical toxicology, chemistry, epidemiology, biostatistics, dose-response and pharmacokinetic modeling, public health, and regulatory safety. Most of our consultants have advanced degrees in their fields and several have obtained certifications from the American Board of Toxicology and other distinguished organizations.
We are recognized for our credentials and decades of experience applying and advancing the science of toxicology, mechanistic biology and related scientific disciplines to toxicology and risk assessment. Professional development is a key component to maintaining our qualifications, and our consultants continue to advance their knowledge and expertise by attending and contributing at conferences, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and serving on science advisory boards.

The scientists in our Center for Toxicology & Mechanistic Biology work on projects that cover the many sub-disciplines of toxicology and related fields. These include neurotoxicology, hepatotoxicology, pulmonary toxicology, immunotoxicology, reproductive and developmental toxicology, endocrine toxicology, and chemical carcinogenesis. We work on both short- and long-term projects for our clients that include toxicity and risk assessments, development of cancer and non-cancer toxicity criteria, design and oversight of research into chemical-specific toxicology and pharmacokinetics, product stewardship, health and safety assessments, biomonitoring and medical monitoring studies, FDA and EPA regulatory support, and many other types of assignments. We are involved on multidisciplinary projects with Exponent's other health sciences and regulatory professionals located in both our U.S. and international offices. We also work closely with the scientists and engineers in our other disciplines.
