- Participated in a root cause assessment of failures in a major international oil pipeline. The assessment included direct interviews, document identification/review, and analysis leading to identification of the root cause and the definition of corrective actions.
- Participated in the development of a nuclear quality assurance program for a geotechnical consulting firm with diverse locations. The project included development of a quality assurance plan and implanting procedures to meet the requirements of 10CFR50, Appendix B and NQA-1.
- Conducted an independent review of the clean-up and remediation costs for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station (TMI-2). The effort included a review of publicly available reports, an analysis to synthesize cost categories across the reports, documentation of the actual costs and a report summarizing the findings. This effort was made all the more difficult since the actual event occurred thirty years ago and costs had to be determined from several sources, assimilated and assumptions made as to their validity.
- Managed development and implementation of a configuration management program at two multi-unit nuclear sites. The project included verification of the as built condition against plant design and development of a comprehensive system to reflect future changes.
- Directed nuclear plant life extension projects for several nuclear utilities.
- Conducted numerous nuclear construction site audits.
- Organized and directed technical review of proposed near zero emissions supercritical fossil plant for large utility.
