Dr. Fu has more than 10 years of experiences in optoelectronics, photonics, microelectronics, particularly in compound semiconductors (III-V) materials systems, infrared photonics, integrated optics, integrated circuits, and semiconductor devices. He provides technical support on litigation cases of product liability and patent infringement. He has extensive experiences with molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) system and semiconductor growth techniques, material characterizations (XRD, SEM, SIMS, TEM, AFM, etc.), clean room processing, ultra-high vacuum technology, micro-electrical-mechanical systems (MEMS), quantum-well and quantum-dot structures, design, fabrication and failure analysis of semiconductor devices, particularly light emitting diodes (LEDs) and lasers. He also has a broad experience in electrical and electronic failure analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), numerical modeling and optimization, digital and analog integrated circuits, extremely narrow linewidth external-cavity lasers and laser spectroscopy, high-precision atomic clock frequency standard. Dr. Fu received a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University, where his research was focused on developing and implementing near infrared coherent photodetection compact systems with indium gallium arsenide based optoelectronic devices. He also received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Quantum Electronics) from Peking (Beijing) University, where his research was focused on developing and implementing cesium atomic fountain toward a high-precision frequency standard utilizing laser cooling and trapping technologies
