Dr. Waksman is board certified in Internal Medicine and Toxicology by the American Board of Toxicology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Toxicology and currently holds an academic appointment of Associate Professor of Medicine at the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology and Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver, and is a faculty member of the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center in Denver, Colorado.

As a medical toxicologist, Dr. Waksman has comprehensive clinical expertise and experience in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology and toxicology, emphasizing drug safety identifying, evaluating and managing adverse drug effects, drug-drug interactions, and medical monitoring. Additionally he has extensive experience in assessing and managing adverse health effects associated with exposure to chemical substances and microbial organisms in the workplace, residence, and general environment, as well as exposure to heavy metals, and building-related symptoms.

His unique background in internal medicine and medical toxicology provides the appropriate tools for a clinically oriented causation analysis of exposure to adverse health effects. Dr. Waksman has been involved in the assessment of health impacts associated with exposure to chemical substances and heavy metals in the United States and Latin America and has served as an external medical toxicology advisor for the Pan American Health Organization in major poisoning incidents in Central America.

Dr. Waksman received his MD from Ben Gurion University in Israel. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Rabin Medical Center in Israel and subsequently completed fellowship training in Medical Toxicology at the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Waksman has lectured in the field of toxicology at local and international professional meetings in the USA and Latin America. He has also participated in community risk communication meetings in Latin America, as well as the United States. Dr. Waksman is the author or co-author of several publications in books and peer-reviewed journals in the fields of pharmacology and medical toxicology.

A native of Argentina, Dr. Waksman is able to perform assessments in Spanish as well.
