
Mr. Gaulke has over 35 years of experience in consulting and management of high-technology companies. He joined Exponent in October 1992 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In March of 1993, he became President, and in June of 1994, he was elected to the firm’s Board of Directors. In 1996, he became President and Chief Executive Officer, and in May 2007, he was named Chairman and CEO of the firm. In 2009, Mr. Gaulke was appointed Executive Chairman.
Prior to joining Exponent, from 1988 to 1992, Mr. Gaulke was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Raynet Corporation, a fiber-to-the-curb telecommunications company, where he had both line responsibility for the development of video products, as well as responsibility for all staff functions.
From 1979 to 1988, Mr. Gaulke was a senior executive at Spectra-Physics, a NYSE company that was the world’s largest manufacturer of lasers. He joined the company as Treasurer, became Chief Financial Officer in 1980, and at the time he departed in 1988, was Executive Vice President with responsibility for three of the operating units, as well as all financial and most administrative functions.
Following graduation from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1972, Mr. Gaulke was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and worked out of McKinsey’s San Francisco office on client engagements, primarily in the food and forest products industries.
