Exponent operates one of the largest privately owned vehicle
test facilities of its kind in Phoenix, Arizona. On any given
day, a visitor might witness automobiles colliding, vessels
exploding, motorcycles overturning, or a host of other incidents
being carefully and scientifically investigated. While Exponent
is nationally known for replicating very complex one-of-a-kind
collisions, we frequently conduct standard vehicle crash tests,
including some specified by the federal government and identified
as federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS). These tests
address vehicle safety with regard to occupant protection,
fuel system integrity, and vehicle crashworthiness. In July
1999, we opened a new indoor crash test facility.
