Dr. Tran has more than 15 years of experience in public health risk assessment in the private and public sectors and academia. Dr. Tran has conducted a number of dietary exposure and safety assessments to support food product development and registration; and evaluated scientific evidence of beneficial effects associated with food and food ingredients for substantiation of health claims. Dr Tran has also worked on a wide range of issues, including nutritional relative risk assessment, probabilistic exposure/risk assessment, dietary exposure assessment, methodology for prioritizing food risks, environmental health threats for military deployments, chemical and radiation risk harmonization, environmental insurance risk assessments, product stewardship, industrial hygiene and epidemiology.

Prior to joining Exponent Dr. Tran was a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health where she conducted research and taught exposure and risk assessment, risk prioritization, and risk harmonization. Dr. Tran remains an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University. Dr. Tran was a Kellogg Fellow in the Doctor of Public Health program at the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her dissertation was on U.S. food safety policy and pesticide risks.
