New Additions to the Detroit Office

David Eby, Ph.D.
Exponent is pleased to welcome Dr. David Eby to the Detroit office. He is a Managing Engineer in Exponent’s Mechanics and Materials practice. He has experience solving complex problems in a variety of industries including; biomedical (hart valves, pumps and inhalation devices), marine (watercraft behavior under seat conditions), gas and oil (sloshing/mixing of fuels in tanks, static mixers, design of nozzles, fluid structure interaction of compressors/turbins), automotive (optimization for crashworthiness, under-hood thermal management, fluid structure interaction of HVAC units and swirl inducers), electronic (heat transfer and cooling), civil (smoke propagation in tunnels and buildings), and aerospace (optimization of laminated composites, fluid structure interaction of wings). He also has experience in intellectual property evaluation. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Michigan State University.

Jackie Rehkopf, Ph.D.
Exponent is pleased to welcome Dr. Jackie Rehkopf to the Detroit office. She is a Senior Engineer in Exponent’s Vehicle Engineering practice. She is a Civil Engineer with 12 years of R&D experience in the automotive industry focusing on materials behavior, component performance, material and engineering specifications, and CAE support. Her specialties include mechanics of materials, structural mechanics and dynamics, experimental testing and failure analysis, with emphasis on reinforced and non-reinforced polymers. She is experienced with materials testing systems, including fatigue and high strain-rate tension. She developed excellent capabilities in high strain-rate tensile testing at her previous employer, and evaluated a broad spectrum of materials for vehicle applications including AHSS, aluminum, magnesium, engineering plastics, and glass-fiber reinforced plastics. She received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from University of Waterloo.
