Stanford University Old Union Building Room 209
Dr. Jennifer Hoffman, Manager in Exponent's Mechanics & Materials Practice, will be teaching an ASM Short Course entitled: Polymer Considerations in Medical Device Design on September 9, 2008 at Stanford University.
Overview:
It is essential to understand how and why plastic components fail in medical device applications as an approach to smarter design. This course will provide awareness to the designer of the sensitivity of plastic materials to time, temperature and environmental factors. In this course you will learn about common failure modes for plastic materials and how to determine the root cause of failure using a systematic approach. Numerous case studies will be presented.
