Home: Practices: Health Sciences: Center for Public Health and Industrial Hygiene

This center is composed of scientists, engineers, physicians, and industrial hygienists, with specialized training in the anticipation , recognition, evaluation , risk assessment, and control of human health hazards. At Exponent, our professional staff conducts workplace, community, and food and water exposure measurements, and evaluates risk to human health. Exponent is unique in our ability to integrate risk assessors with clinicians, to conduct both clinical and quantitative risk assessments. Working with our engineering staff, we can also design cost-effective remediation or corrective actions. Working in multidisciplinary teams, we can reconstruct historical exposures to toxic materials ; measure actual exposures in air, water, wastewater, food, and environmental surfaces; and perform human health risk assessments based on these analyses . We also consult with clients about possible health effects of manufactured products or process chemicals used or released in in food, air, or water. Finally, we work with manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, devices, and other health interventions to help identify and demonstrate product value in terms of health economics and outcomes.
