Mr. Holcomb has over 40 years of experience as a consulting expert in the areas of accident reconstruction, vehicle dynamics, vehicle handling and stability analysis, overturn stability analysis, crash testing, and vehicle system and component performance analysis. Mr. Holcomb has analyzed over 4,000 accidents of all types involving passenger vehicles, light and heavy-duty trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians, buses, and industrial equipment. These accidents have included front, rear, and side high-speed collisions, low-speed collisions, pole/guard rail impacts, post-collision fuel-fed fires, and rollover crashes.

In addition, Mr. Holcomb has extensive expertise in the investigation of vehicle handling and stability analysis, tire/component failure, rollover dynamics, and rollover stability. Throughout his many years of consulting and testifying experience, he has conducted numerous physical demonstrations including high- and low-speed full-scale crash tests, vehicle component testing, and vehicle handling and stability analysis demonstrations.

Prior to joining Exponent, Mr. Holcomb was the President of M.P. Holcomb Engineering Corporation, serving as an engineering consultant in the areas of accident reconstruction and vehicle handling and stability analysis for 17 years. Prior to creating M.P. Holcomb Engineering Corporation, Mr. Holcomb served as Vice-President and Consultant at Biodynamic Research Corporation (BRC) for 5 years. In addition, Mr. Holcomb has 31 years of experience at General Motors Corporation. For 22 of those years, Mr. Holcomb held various positions within the Engineering Analysis group including the position of Principal Staff Analysis Engineer.
