Mr. Mo started his career as a field engineer in Ethiopia, and worked as a project control engineer and cost engineer for a General Contractor (infrastructure). A certified project management professional (PMP), he has construction experience and knowledge from working on a variety of construction projects in Asia, Africa, and United States. He is an experienced consultant with expertise in project control, construction management, cost estimating, quantity surveying, scheduling, risk analysis, and contract/claim management.

Electrical Transmission Project Management Support Services — Provided coordination with and among client stakeholders as well as vendors, suppliers, agencies, and contractors external to the client regarding work, timing, and project issues/resolutions. Developed and maintained a detailed project plan, provided financial forecasting to support execution of the work, project schedules resource loaded and maintained in Primavera P6. Supported an iterative monthly process for schedule updates that included interactive communication with, and input from, key project stakeholders. Developed reports consistent with client reporting requirements to facilitate communication. Attended schedule progress meetings with representatives from construction, engineering, operations, permitting, materials, etc.

Transportation

High Speed Rail Project, CA, USA* — Developed quantities for two station buildings at 15% and 30% design stage of estimate. Provide cost estimates for bridges, viaducts, and tunnels.

Major Interstate Bridge Project, NY, USA* — Reviewed Contractors’ bids and led estimating process to develop an independent estimate using HCSS Software. Developed the labor rate database.

Light Rail Transit Project, Canada* — Provided cost analysis and comparison for 5 options and a baseline. All options envisage LRT Station, BRT Station and Parking garage consisting of 200 parking spaces. 

Light Rail Transit Project, CA, USA* — Provided cost analysis and comparison for 7 options of LRT in San Francisco. All options envisaged LRT Station, guide way, and system. 

Port Project, Santos, Brazil* — Prepared preliminary cost estimates for 2-track railway rehabilitation and upgrading at Santos port. Major project components included track relocation and new construction, retaining structure and earthwork. 

Transit Center, San Francisco, CA, USA* — Provided construction cost estimates for proposed bus access ramps in San Francisco’s downtown. Unit price estimates were prepared from conceptual designs up to 100% detail design. 

Trolley Terminal, New York, NY, USA* — Developed the operation and maintenance (O&M) model, provided O&M cost for feasibility study of the conversion of the historic trolley terminal into an innovative underground public park. 

Major International Airport, USA* — Developed cost estimates for airport upgrading, supporting client’s investment decision.

Dam Project, CA, USA* — Led estimating process for fourteen (14) dams for insurance valuation purposes. 

Power Generation Project, Chile* – Provided quantities and cost estimates for innovative 600MW PV farm and 150 MW sea water pump storage.

Super Storm Sandy Relief Effort, NY, USA* — Provided cost estimate for housing retrofitting and rebuilding in New York City. 

Scientific Facility Upgrade Project, Oakland, CA, USA* — Provided take-off quantities and cost estimates for MEP upgrades for an Oakland Science Facility. 

Construction Operation 

Tunnel Road Rehabilitation project, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia* — Controlled the project costs, completed quantity survey, and jobsite inspection services in Road Rehabilitation project. Handled/resolved claims, bids, and other contractual issues.
