Dr. Yardimci has over 18 years of experience in product development and technical product support for medical devices, small molecule pharmaceuticals, and biologics and cell therapies. During his career, Dr. Yardimci has led or been a significant contributor to over twenty product launches, including disposable devices for surgical sealant preparation and delivery, reconstitution devices for biologics, elastomeric ambulatory infusion pumps, sets for custom delivery of biologics into subcutaneous space, biologics delivered within flexible containers, flowable hemostats, pharmacy compounders, blood component and viral inactivation systems, and peritoneal/hemo-dialysis systems.

Dr. Yardimci’s research interests are in mechanical design of disposable and electromechanical devices, rapid prototyping for commercialization acceleration, engineering analysis (computational fluid dynamics and structural finite element analysis) of medical device / container closure systems and associated manufacturing and distribution processes and experimental methods including custom human factors test method development, instrumentation of complex electromechanical systems for system identification, automated data acquisition in sync with engineering imaging methods (high speed video or thermal imaging) and development of sub-system demonstrators. 

Prior to joining Exponent, Dr. Yardimci worked for 16 years at Baxter Healthcare, Corp., in various roles of increasing responsibility within the corporate engineering and Bioscience (R&D) groups. His last role was as Engineering Director for Technology Resources Engineering, Baxter’s corporate engineering group, where his responsibilities included due diligence efforts for acquisition and partnership activities, product development, critical field corrective actions (FCA’s), adverse event investigations, product recalls and market reintroductions, design history file (DHF) remediations, manufacturing line-down issues, business critical regulatory correspondence, CAPA investigations, engineering support for clinical trials, late stage critical project risk retirement and root cause analysis.
