Anechoic Chamber

Exponent’s radio frequency (RF) anechoic chamber offers an RF-shielded environment for development, integration, and testing. This chamber has been used in the past to support projects related to antenna design and evaluation, radar cross section measurement, human exposure assessment, electromagnetic susceptibility and electromagnetic compatibility.

The relevant specifications for Exponent’s chamber include:

  • Shielding: greater than 100 dB from outside environment
  • Operating range: 20 MHz to 40 GHz typical (application dependent)
  • Device under test (DUT) physical constraints:
    • Wall-to-wall (azimuthal diameter): 105 inches
    • Positioner-to-ceiling height: 105 inches
    • Maximum weight: 700 pounds

Accompanying this chamber is a dedicated suite of test equipment including:

  • Spectrum analysis from 100 Hz to 26.5 GHz
  • Vector Network Analysis from 300 kHz to 20 GHz
  • Signal generation to 20 GHz
  • Isotropic field probe, 80 MHz to 40 GHz, 200 V/m
  • RF power meter
  • Line Impedance Stabalization Network (LISN)
  • Variety of biconical, yagi, horn, and dipole antennas
  • Variety of near-field probes
  • RF Amplifiers and attenuators
