Dr. Vasilic specializes in electrical and electronic systems, particularly in power systems, power electronics, control systems and signal processing. He has extensive experience with consumer products and appliances, industrial process control and instrumentation, power generation plants, transmission lines, power supplies, electro-hydraulic systems, electrical machines, motor drives, protective relays, analog and digital electronic systems, computer systems, and programmable controllers. He also has a broad expertise in product reliability and failure analysis, power system faults and outages, investigations of fires allegedly caused by electrical equipment, electric shock risk assessment, accelerated lifetime testing, process modeling and simulation, numerical algorithms, and real-time software and firmware applications for data acquisition, diagnostics, and sequential and supervisory control. Dr Vasilic received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, where his research was focused on developing and implementing intelligent techniques for real-time and off-line power system fault and disturbance detection and classification. Dr. Vasilic was also a research assistant at the Department of Electrical Engineering, at the University of Belgrade, where his research was aimed at improving the performance of complex electrical feedback systems using modern control techniques. Dr. Vasilic served as a Consulting Engineer in Energoproject-Hydroengineering, Serbia, where he performed system design, hardware configuration, and software applications for monitoring and control of power generation plants. He also served as a Technology Engineer at Technical Overhauling Department, Serbia, where he performed system analysis and testing of object targeting and fire control systems.
