Professional Profile

Mr. McNamara has over 30 years experience as a chemist and a regulatory professional in industry developing new pesticides. The first portion of his career was spent developing pesticides for agricultural and nonagricultural uses, while the latter portion of his industry tenure focused on developing new animal health pesticides and drugs for the US market. He has experience in developing strategies and identifying data requirements and regulatory proceedings, particularly with regard to pesticide registration, to bring new products, both pesticide and drugs, to the U.S. market.

Mr. McNamara has been involved in the successful development of many new agricultural and nonagricultural pesticides, as well as animal health products including pesticides and drugs. The animal health products have been developed for both companion animals, such as dogs, cats, and horses, and also for livestock, such as cattle, swine, and poultry.

Mr. McNamara is experienced with providing FIFRA regulatory support for new active ingredients, food-use and non-food use pesticide products, new end-use products, new uses of registered products, reregistration, and supplemental/distributor registrations.

In addition, Mr. McNamara has managed metabolism, residue, environmental, health and safety data development for the regulatory approval of new products, including the environmental assessments for new animal drugs for cattle, swine, and poultry. This was accomplished by directing staff scientists and by directly placing and monitoring such work at contract laboratories.
