
Ms. Hung has experience in many phases of construction projects, including pre-construction planning, construction project management and controls, commissioning and closeout, and final prime contract and subcontract negotiations. She has participated in the preparation of issue, delay, and cost analyses for different types of construction claims. Ms. Hung has developed a detailed as-built schedule and database, and analyzed as-built critical paths to determine entitlement and allocate delays. She has evaluated claims for both contractors and designers, and also participated in various dispute resolution forums such as mediations and dispute-related project meetings with opposing parties and experts in attendance.
Prior to joining Exponent, Ms. Hung worked as an Assistant Project Manager with Swinerton Builders, a large general contractor based in California. The construction projects that she was involved with included post-tensioned reinforced concrete high-rise hotels and apartment buildings, composite structural steel and concrete underground garages and above-grade office complexes, a seismically retrofitted retail store, and historical mixed-use masonry structures.

Wastewater Treatment FacilitiesAnalyzed a general contractor’s delay claim on behalf of the design engineer on a $104 million wastewater treatment plant in Phoenix, Arizona. Developed a detailed daily-specific as-built schedule and database, and evaluated critical project delays and their causes. Analyzed contractor’s cost overruns and procurement/buyout process.
High-Rise ApartmentsAssisted the general contractor in the preparation of a delay claim on a $90 million, four-building university housing complex in San Francisco, CA. Prepared issue analyses and identified and quantified claim costs. Participated in multiple mediation sessions and meetings with mediator, opposing party, insurance companies, design consultants, and other experts in attendance. Claim settled.
Casino HotelAnalyzed a $5 million delay and disruption claim submitted by a concrete subcontractor on behalf of the general contractor on a large casino hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Reviewed project cost data and developed quantification and analysis of subcontractor’s claimed costs compared to actual costs incurred. Evaluated subcontractor’s claim submission process for contract compliance.
