Ms. Hu specializes in electric power system engineering and power electronics. In her Master’s degree program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, she worked on the control design of power electronic converters including the Power Factor Correction and Voltage Regulation Module for computer power supplies. She also conducted software development for detection and localization of partial discharge in power transformers in Southeast University as a graduate student. Ms. Hu is currently involved in numerous other projects, including: safety evaluation, risk assessment and failure analysis for consumer products, lithium ion battery failure analysis for portable devices such as notebook and cell phone, printed circuit board failure analysis, power electronics converter analysis, and transformer failure analysis. Ms. Hu has performed design evaluations on consumer products, such as AC adaptor and NiMH battery pack. She has also conducted factory auditing of lithium ion battery manufacturing facility in China.
