Exponent Scientist Wins New Occupational Health and Safety Professional Essay Award

Exponent Health Scientist Ms. Jamie Schenk recently won the 2017 3M New Occupational Health and Safety Professional Essay Award. The Essay Award is open to new Occupational Health and Safety professionals who have been working in the field for five years or less. As part of her prize, Ms. Schenk was invited to attend the American Society of Safety Engineers Conference (ASSE) where she was presented an award at the ASSE during a reception held for her.

Her essay, "The New Look Workforce: How Will Changing Demographics Affect the Practice of Occupational Safety and Health,” discusses how essential it is for employers to adopt universal hazards communications to ensure a safer and more inclusive workplace.
