Global Dust Safety Conference 2021
The Global Dust Safety Conference 2021 will take place virtually on March 1–3, 2021. Attendees at this conference will have the opportunity to learn from 40+ global experts on combustible dust safety; understand upcoming regulation changes in the industry; learn about the newest developments in prevention, protection, and cleaning systems; and watch and re-watch presentation replays for the entire month after the event.
Join Russell A. Ogle, Ph.D., P.E., CSP, CFEI, FAIChE, Exponent practice director and principal engineer, and Suzanne Smyth, Ph.D., P.E., CFI, CVFI, Exponent managing engineer, as they present the closing keynote for the live industry program “Dust Fire & Explosion Incident Investigations: Why? What Can We Learn?” on Tuesday, March 2, at 2:00 PM PT/5:00 PM ET. Investigation of incidents and near misses can aid in prevention and mitigation in the future. Their presentation will explore how the scientific method is used to guide the investigative process, from gathering information to the ultimate lessons gleaned from the analysis. They will share past case studies of dust incidents that highlight investigative techniques and dust safety learnings. The lessons learned from the case studies include recognizing the importance of identifying product heating and smoldering, appropriately siting manned facilities, recognizing flash fire hazards, and ensuring the stability of dust containing structures.
