SAE WCX Digital Summit
SAE International will host the WCX Digital Summit on April 13–15, 2021. At this summit, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with the brightest minds in propulsion, autonomous vehicles, smart architecture, automotive manufacturing, and systems engineering and will learn about mobility’s biggest hurdles, from developmental timelines for autonomous vehicles and new technologies to global supply chain constraints impacting the automotive industry.
Jeffrey Wishart, Ph.D., Exponent manager, will present “Current Activities and Future Plans of the V&V Task Force of the SAE On-Road Automated Driving Committee” on Tuesday, April 13, as part of the On-Demand: Active and Automated Driving System Safety technical session. This session will focus on how advanced driver assistance, active safety, and automated driving systems can yield significant safety benefits from the deployment of existing and proposed systems in the fleet. Topics will include the technologies used in these systems, field effectiveness assessment, safety benefits for projected systems, driver state monitoring, regulatory testing, consumer acceptance, market demand for these systems, and the performance of onboard sensors and vision systems in active and automated driving safety systems. Systems of interest include, but are not limited to, automatic emergency braking, automatic emergency steering, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, left turn assist, blind spot monitoring, and detection/avoidance of vulnerable road users.
Additionally, Todd A. Frank, P.E., Exponent senior managing engineer, will be in attendance.
