DRI Product Liability Conference 2022

The Defense Research Institute (DRI) will host their Product Liability Conference 2022 in Las Vegas, February 2–4. Conference participants will learn about memory recall challenges in witnesses, how Right-to-Repair legislation is impacting product safety, creative solutions for COVID-impacted dockets, elements of style impacting opening statements and closing arguments, and more.

On Wednesday, February 2, during SLG Session 1, Fire Science & International (Joint Session), at 1:00 PT, Exponent’s R. Thomas Long, Jr., P.E., CFEI, corporate vice president, director of U.S. offices, & principal engineer, will speak as part of a panel on “Fire Scene Investigations for the 21st Century: Techniques and Technologies for Investigating a Scene.”

On Friday, February 4, Elizabeth A. Rapp van Roden, Ph.D., managing scientist, and co-panelists will discuss “Front Center Airbags in High-Speed Lateral Impacts: Considerations for Product Liability Litigation” at SLG Session 2, Automotive & Biomechanics (Joint Session), at 8:00 AM PT.

Exponent’s Vijay K. Saraf, Ph.D., P.E., principal engineer, and Caroline Crump, Ph.D., managing scientist, will also present on Friday, February 4, during SLG Session 3. At 10:30 AM PT, Vijay K. Saraf will address “The Standard Has Changed; Now What?” along with other panel members during the Agricultural Construction Mining and Industrial Equipment (ACMIE) & Scaffolding, Cranes & Aerial Devices (SCAD) (Joint Session). Caroline Crump will also be speaking at 10:30 AM PT as a panelist discussing “Health Risks and Warnings in Everyday Life: Spinach Recalls, Rare Steaks, Cotton Swabs, and Face Masks” during the Consumer Goods and Business Equipment & Food Law (Joint Session).
