AIHce EXP 2022

American Industrial Hygiene Association
May 23–25, 2022
Nashville, Tennessee

The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) will host AIHce EXP 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee, May 23–25. This year’s annual conference focuses on the important trends, needs, research, technologies, training, and connections for occupational health and safety professionals.

Exponent’s Michael J. McCoy, M.S., CIH, DABT, senior managing scientist, will speak on “‘Fun’damentals of Industrial Toxicology” Saturday May 21, at 1:00 PM CT/11:00 AM PT. The presenters will review the toxicology fundamentals in a case-based format with student interaction via live polling and group activities. Topics will include a review of acute and chronic toxicity, basics of the dose response relationships in occupational exposures, basic toxicity mechanisms, and a review of the key occupational toxicants most frequently observed in the workplace. The course will also review the use of the toxicologic basis of the ACGIH Documentation of the TLVs and BEIs in industrial hygiene practice. The session will have breakouts to allow attendees to solve real-life occupational toxicity cases by deduction, reasoning, and reviewing data and workplace clues. This fun and interactive session will help non-toxicologists feel more comfortable with key topics in occupational and industrial toxicology, so they can apply these newly gained skills to their upcoming CIH exam, their developing consulting practice, or to occupational health issues at their workplaces.
