12th Annual Battery Safety Summit
Cambridge EnerTech will host their 12th Annual Battery Safety Summit in Tysons Corner, Virginia, October 12-14, 2022. Key players from around the world will present the latest R&D advancements for integrating and implementing lithium-ion battery safety to meet ever-increasing energy demands.
On October 13 at 10:00 a.m., Adam Cohn, Ph.D., Exponent managing scientist, will speak during a segment titled “Over Discharge in Lithium-Ion Cells: Understanding the Negative Electrode Potential at Low Cell Voltages.” The talk will reference electrode testing performed on a wide selection of commercial lithium-ion cells to characterize the negative electrode potential during various states of over discharge.
On October 14 at 3:30 p.m., Troy Hayes, Ph.D., P.E., Exponent principal engineer and Asia offices director, will speak during a segment titled “Advanced Lithium-Ion Battery Failure Analysis: An Evolving Methodology for an Evolving Technology.” The talk will address how Exponent is developing new methodologies and techniques to determine the cause and origin of catastrophic failures of lithium-ion batteries.
