Practicing as an Architect in Wyoming and Colorado, Mr. Vose has worked on various types of projects including single-family, commercial, retail, educational (K-12 and Community College), small to medium sized Air Traffic Control Towers, and industrial buildings, serving these types of projects many times as the Architect of Record. Certified as LEED AP, he is versed in various types of sustainable construction means and methods.
As a forensic architect, Mr. Vose has performed investigations of building defects in relation to building envelopes, construction defect analysis, and subsequent repair of building envelopes.
Mr. Vose has investigated building envelope systems for multi-family residential, single-family residential, high-rise residential and commercial buildings. Building veneer systems investigated include brick masonry, adhered and anchored stone veneer, one-coat and three coat stucco systems, exterior insulation finish systems (EIFS), single-coat stucco applied over rigid insulation board, cementitious and hardboard siding, and metal panel cladding. In addition, Mr. Vose has investigated the performance of joint sealants within various veneer systems and the waterproof integrity of plazas, patios, terraces, balconies, and decks. He has also investigated and water tested the performance of finned and non-finned windows installed in various types of veneer systems.
Mr. Vose has performed numerous investigations of steep and low-slope roofing systems including single-ply, standing seam metal, asphalt shingle, and clay tile systems.
Prior to joining Exponent, Mr. Vose was employed at architectural firms where he managed projects providing new design, remodel services, construction documents, and construction observations for various types of construction. Mr. Vose has also performed design, document review, document coordination, and construction coordination services for developers, contractors, and engineers. His responsibilities have included building code review, construction system selection, finish material selections, specification writing, construction detailing, construction observation, and quality control for both new construction and the remodel of existing structures.
