Ms. Ayers’ expertise lies in data analytics and visualization. She specializes in using business intelligence to provide actionable insights for clients’ programs and portfolios. Ms. Ayers has led initiatives in the development and implementation of centralized portfolio reporting frameworks. She has built automated, interactive dashboards for various clients to provide easy-to-digest data that can be used to make high-level rate case decisions for gas utility clients, project-specific decisions for electric transmission construction projects, and portfolio budget decisions for an electric transmission utility group. She is currently the lead data analyst for a multimillion dollar electric tower maintenance program, consisting of running recurring reports, addressing ad-hoc data requests, and short-term and long-term program planning.

Ms. Ayers also has experience with program and project controls in the construction and maintenance of electric utility assets. She has supported a program management role consisting of preparing detailed financial reports and analyses in addition to tracking and reporting the schedules and key performance indicators for nearly 100 projects.

Prior to joining Exponent, Ms. Ayers received her M.S. in Sustainable Design & Construction from Stanford University to complement her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Villanova University. Her specialization in her master's program was structural engineering. She took courses relating to construction accounting and finance, structural design, and project controls.

Ms. Ayers has worked as a project engineer intern with DPR Construction. Her responsibilities included managing sub-contractors, coordinating seven different mock-up models, and document control.

Project Experience

Lead data analyst on $50M program. Performed data analyses and presented results of program performance to key stakeholders to obtain approval for future year budgets. Created schedules and budgets for hundreds of projects in future year workplans. Runs and creates monthly reports and completes ad-hoc data information requests.

Created an enhanced reporting framework, streamlining monthly client project report creation. Removed reliance on an external data management vendor and saved monthly costs by moving reports to an internal system.

Developed a fully interactive and automated dashboard for gas transmission utility programs totaling nearly $100M. Centralized data sources and streamlined the weekly upload process to ensure data could be refreshed quickly as needed. Incorporated drill-down and drill-up features into the dashboards to make it easier for leadership to quickly focus on projects at-risk without scouring through all individual project data.

Developed an automated framework to report all financial metrics and key performance indicators for the full portfolio of electric transmission projects totaling over $500M. Consolidated and centralized data sources and outputs, therefore decreasing the time and inaccuracies existing in previous reporting methods. Improved upon the existing reports by considering stakeholder communication priorities and making the reports easily reproducible and thereby, more efficient. Utilized Tableau to create the automated framework.

Supports the management and day-to-day operation of an electric transmission program consisting of over 35 projects ranging from $4M to $19M. Executes reports to assess the financial health of the program. Uses Primavera P6 to schedule and assess projects and determine their progress.

Designed structural system for a university building on an IPD project with a globally distributed design and construction team. Responsible for creating a building resistant to seismic forces and within certain environmental and financial thresholds. Utilized Revit and Navisworks to aid in design and construction visualization and planning.
