Dr. Drollette is an environmental chemist specializing in analytical chemistry, fate and transport evaluation, hydrologic analyses, and data interpretation and management. He has five years of experience evaluating impacts of various chemical classes in the environment, such as refined petroleum products, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), chlorinated solvents (e.g., PCE, TCE), and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). He applies chemical forensic techniques to discern potential sources for cost allocation models and assesses mobility in various environmental media.

Dr. Drollette's past project experience includes modeling hydrocarbon transport to air and water from oil sands waste tailings, evaluating toxicity of chemically dispersed crude oils, quantifying natural attenuation and biodegradation potential of hydrocarbons in oil and gas wastewaters using various treatments, and developing novel analytical chemistry methods to measure nonionic surfactants in industrial wastewater effluents. He has extensive experience with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry analyses and is certified in the operation and data interpretation of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GCxGC).

Dr. Drollette has also studied runoff management strategies in agricultural settings. He evaluated the effects of groundwater table manipulation on phosphorus and nitrogen availability and mobility in tile-drainage systems.
