Mr. Fioravanti has over 20 years of experience working with emerging technologies in both commercial and consulting roles. Currently, his efforts focus on advanced electricity storage technologies, distributed energy resources (DER), microgrids, and renewable technologies. He assists clients in developing strategic business and deployment plans for advanced systems, technology assessments, project development efforts, and financial modeling of applications. In the area of storage technologies, Mr. Fioravanti has worked with major storage manufacturers across the spectrum of technology types and applications. He has authored several papers on advanced storage technologies and has been cited frequently as a leader in his field.

As the electricity grid modernizes, Mr. Fioravanti has focused his support into three main segment areas of Strategy & Financial Modeling, Technology & Market Assessments, and Deployment & Testing Support. Prior to his focus on storage and DER, he conducted numerous assessments for utilities on advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). Hence, this history of continually supporting AMI and Distributed Energy Resources initiatives allows Mr. Fioravanti to combine his technical and managerial expertise to assist utilities in their grid modernization efforts. Prior to working in the advanced energy technology area, he worked extensively in the aerospace industry where supported the introduction and flight testing of new military and commercial aircraft in the U.S., Southeast Asia, and China.

During his 20 years of consulting, his clients have focused on multinational corporations, emerging storage and DER companies, California and New York State Agencies, the Department of Energy and National Labs such as PNNL and Sandia, and finally, utilities that have been pursuing storage strategies, grid modernization, and Utility of the Future initiatives.

In the area of storage, Mr. Fioravanti led the team that evaluated the cost effectiveness of Energy Storage in support of California’s Energy Storage Ruling. As a founding Board Member of New York BEST (Battery and Energy Storage Consortium), he helped create the joint venture to build the NY-BEST Commercialization and Test Center in Rochester, NY. For storage manufacturers, he has helped support investment assessments of technologies, conducted market assessments and helped identify application areas for specific technologies. Finally, he has assisted utilities in adopting storage and integrating the technology into grid modernization plans.
