Dr. Getzinger is an environmental scientist in Exponent’s Environmental & Earth Sciences practice. He is an environmental chemist with expertise in the chemical fate of organic contaminants, trace contaminant analysis, environmental monitoring, data analytics and data asset management. In particular, he consults on issues relating to the environmental fate of emerging contaminants, such as pesticides, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), flame retardants, plastic additives, and personal care products. Dr. Getzinger has applied his experience to determine the sources and fate of organic contaminants associated with oil and gas operations, wastewater reuse and PFAS monitoring studies, among others. He is a recognized expert in the application of high-resolution mass spectrometry to address questions in environmental chemistry.
