Dr. Iyer’s technical expertise and experience lies in the field of consumer electronics, circuit protection devices, high voltage and power products, solar panels and materials for electrical and electronics applications. He has extensive experience in conducting failure analysis on printed circuit boards for consumer electronics and medical applications, solar panels, circuit protection devices, and industrial electronic controllers and sensors.

His academic experiences involve electrical and material characterization of epoxy nanocomposite and microcomposite materials for electrical insulation applications. He specializes in electrical evaluation techniques such as electrical characterization of materials for electrical and electronic applications, AC, DC, and Impulse breakdown testing, dissipation factor measurements, partial discharge testing and measurements. He also has expertise in material characterization techniques such as electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, impedance/dielectric spectroscopy, and thermo-gravimetric analysis.
