Ms. Murillo has over 6 years of experience in construction management, in the fields of healthcare and educational facilities, commercial and residential buildings, and transportation and utility infrastructure. During her time as a project manager, she has supported clients in construction management, contract management, project scheduling, cost analysis, and change management.

Her past experience includes feasibility and constructability reviews of commercial buildings, multi-unit residencies and medical offices, construction management process and procedure evaluations and improvements, value engineering, and permit coordination. Her project management experience includes oversight of safety, quality and risk management processes, project controls, project negotiations, and project forecasting to ensure projects were delivered on schedule and within budget.

Prior to joining Exponent, Ms. Murillo was an Assistant Project Manager II with Charles Pankow Builders in which she managed commercial real estate construction projects. She also worked for T2Partners and was part of the team managing project controls for a large transportation infrastructure project. Prior to that, she was a construction estimator for Kaiser Permanente.

Project Experience

Healthcare

Construction estimator for medical office buildings, laboratories, regional offices, data centers, warehouses, production/manufacturing facilities, and a health/technology innovation center. Coordinated with key stakeholders to determine scope of work, value engineering opportunities, and annual budget forecasting. Responsible for all levels of the preconstruction bidding process: design procurement, RFP solicitation, bid evaluations, estimate development, contract execution.

Infrastructure - Transportation

Part of the construction management team representing the City and County of San Francisco and the Federal Aviation Administration who oversaw the design-build general contractor. Verified invoices, change orders, and cost estimates to ensure appropriate billing and prevent cost overruns. Created project schedules and coordinated plan reviews with other airport departments.

Infrastructure – Utility

Project manager for electric generation (solar) interconnection projects. Involved in completing all phases of work including initiation, engineering, procurement, permitting, staging, construction and closeout.

Developed, monitored and maintained project schedules using Primavera P6 software, and project estimates and budgets. Solicited and executed all contracts related to project execution including main construction contract.

Renovation – Commercial/Residential/Education

Managed commercial real estate construction projects with scope ranging from tenant improvements, mechanical, electrical, and structural upgrades. Responsible for all project phases from initial feasibility design to project completion and closeout. Conducted project controls management by creating, evaluating, and administering project schedules, budgets, owner and subcontractor contracts, project billing, and safety/risk plans. Supported business development and pre-construction efforts including constructability reviews, and feasibility budget development.
