Ms. Murillo’s expertise lies in construction project and program management. Her project management experience includes overseeing all project phases from feasibility reviews and engineering and permitting through construction and closeout. She has coordinated client and contract resources, developed and tracked project schedules and budgets, and negotiated construction contracts. She has led multi-disciplinary teams in adapting to changing client needs while mitigating project risks and challenges and ensuring project success.
Ms. Murillo’s program management and operations support extends across multiple program portfolios, with a combined total of more than 150 construction projects, and oversees a program team consisting of project managers, project controls staff, and a construction manager. She has supported clients in developing and implementing new management systems and cost controls frameworks to align with weekly and monthly reporting cycles and long-term portfolio strategic planning. She has developed varying levels of project- and portfolio-level project controls and reporting to facilitate the evaluation of work progress, balancing of resources, identification of execution risks, and development of mitigation strategies.
Prior to joining Exponent, Ms. Murillo was part of Charles Pankow Builder’s project management team in which she managed commercial real estate construction projects. She also worked for T2Partners and was part of the team managing project controls for a large transportation infrastructure project and was a construction estimator for Kaiser Permanente. Her past experience includes feasibility and constructability reviews of commercial buildings, multi-unit residencies, and medical offices, construction management process and procedure evaluations and improvements, value engineering, and permit coordination. Her project management experience includes oversight of safety, quality and risk management processes, project controls, project negotiations, and project forecasting to ensure projects were delivered on schedule and within budget.

Construction estimator for medical office buildings, laboratories, regional offices, data centers, warehouses, production/manufacturing facilities, and a health/technology innovation center. Coordinated with key stakeholders to determine scope of work, value engineering opportunities, and annual budget forecasting. Responsible for all levels of the preconstruction bidding process: design procurement, RFP solicitation, bid evaluations, estimate development, and contract execution.
Infrastructure – Transportation
Part of the construction management team representing the City and County of San Francisco and the Federal Aviation Administration who oversaw the design-build general contractor. Verified invoices, change orders, and cost estimates to ensure appropriate billing and prevent cost overruns. Created project schedules and coordinated plan reviews with other airport departments.

Project Manager for the Electric Generation Interconnection (EGI) program which interconnects renewable generation facilities to the electric transmission grid. Generation sites range from 20MW to 450MW in energy production ̶ project costs range from $1.5M to $10M. Involved in completing all phases of work, including initiation, planning, engineering, procurement, permitting, staging, construction, and closeout. Developed, monitored, and maintained project schedules, using Primavera P6 software, and project estimates and budgets. Solicited and executed all contracts related to project execution, including main construction contract.
Program Manager for the Work Requested by Others (WRO) and EGI programs with over 150 total projects across both programs ̶ program costs in excess of $275M. Responsible for a project team of program managers, project controls staff, and construction manager. Developed reporting tools to monitor program financials and project execution metrics.

Managed commercial real estate construction projects with scope ranging from tenant improvements to mechanical, electrical, and structural upgrades. Responsible for all project phases from initial feasibility design to project completion and closeout.
