Senior Scientist
Chemical Regulation & Food Safety
Harrogate (UK)

Dr. Sneath specializes in the environmental fate and behavior of plant protection products, biocides and other chemicals. She provides expert scientific support and strategic advice to clients regarding the regulation of chemicals under both EU and National legislation; in particular relating to pesticides (Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009) and biocides (Regulation (EU) No 528/2012). Her experience includes data evaluation, dossier drafting and the assessment of environmental exposure using both standard and higher tier assessment tools, including FOCUS models.

In her previous role working at the UK regulatory authority (CRD, HSE), Dr. Sneath wrote EU assessment reports for pesticide and biocide active substances and evaluated product applications for approval on EU and National levels. She provided technical pre-submission advice to applicants, was involved in EU peer review processes and consultations, and was the HSEs speaker at the TSGE Forum in Harpenden, UK. In her academic training, Dr. Sneath studied chemistry and toxicology before completing a Ph.D focused on new techniques for the remediation of contaminated land and water. She then went on to work as an Industrial Research Officer at Bangor University, UK, where she developed multidisciplinary research projects in collaboration with industry partners, related to measuring and improving the quality of the marine environment.
