Mr. Stephens is a Marine Engineer with seagoing experience gained over a sixteen-year period up to and including the rank of second engineer.

In 2005 Mr. Stephens became a Technical Superintendent and was responsible for the overall management and technical operations for a fleet of general cargo vessels.

Mr. Stephens moved to another established ship management company in 2013 as the Deputy Fleet Manager and was responsible for a wide range of vessels and staff across three global sites. He was promoted to Fleet Manager in 2014, where all client relationship management and office budgeting was added to his role. In 2017, he was made General Manager and a Director of the company, in overall charge.

Mr. Stephens has practical experience of slow, medium and high-speed engines from most well-known manufacturers, including Chinese and Korean licensees, as well as all associated auxiliary plant and machinery.

Mr. Stephens has practical operational and managerial experience of a wide range of vessel types including clean (light) and dirty (heavy) product tankers, superyachts, container vessels, general cargo and multipurpose vessels, as well as all sizes of bulk carriers. He also has first-hand experience of specialist vessels including heavy lift and cement carriers.

He has prepared, tendered, carried out and finalised numerous dry-dockings, both routine and those requiring major repairs, has carried out pre-purchase and vetting/condition inspections on behalf of Owners and has experience of acting as the lead coordinator at vessel groundings, fires and personnel incidents, attending throughout the incident cycle.

He has also previously been involved with the preparation and negotiation of towage, new building and ship management contracts.
