Prior to joining Exponent, Dr. Xi had 9 years of experience in providing consultation and testing services to industrial clients in failure analysis, materials evaluation, identification and characterization, quality control and R&D methods on a wide variety of materials including polymers, thin films, coatings, nano-materials, PCB lead frames, electro-plating materials and photovoltaic cells.

Dr. Xi has extensive experience in surface science analytical methods including Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF-SIMS), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy.
