The goal of environmental site investigations is to develop a thorough understanding of a contaminated site and to focus remediation activities through optimizing the collection and analysis of high quality data. Exponent achieves this by bringing all elements of a successful site investigation program together, including a comprehensive understanding of site conditions, the ability to leverage existing data, and an understanding of the ultimate use of data in order to focus the investigation for a particular site.
Our team of chemists, engineers, ecologists, geologists, hydrologists, soil scientists, and toxicologists investigates sites and facilities to identify chemical contaminants, including emerging contaminants, in air, soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater. Our team evaluates the risks that may be posed to human health and/or the environment. These investigations are tailored to each site depending on the regulatory or litigation framework, the types of chemicals and exposure conditions, and the eventual use or disposition of the property or facility.
Exponent continually works to develop innovative and defensible methodologies and techniques to characterize sites in less time using high quality scientific information. In support of this work, we routinely serve on national research and study committees.
