Safety & Health Assessments

Our industrial hygienists work across the country and internationally. We have evaluated exposures in warehouse and manufacturing facilities, construction sites, mining operations, food production facilities, hazardous waste sites, shipping vessels, office buildings, residential structures, and a host of other settings. We collect samples to evaluate exposures to a wide variety of contaminants, including asbestos, metals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins, furans, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), microorganisms and mycotoxins, nanoparticles, bioaerosols (including mold and bacteria), pesticides, welding fumes, solvents, and other pollutants. We also design and implement large-scale sampling projects, and compile, analyze, and interpret the data produced, to address food, air quality, and water quality concerns.
In addition to onsite sampling, we conduct technical reviews and analytical quality control review of sampling data for litigation purposes. These reviews involve evaluating the design, sampling collection techniques, and data and laboratory quality control practices.
Indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments and outdoor air quality assessments are performed regularly by our staff. We conduct investigations involving moisture and water intrusion, environmental mold, odors, and off-gassing from building materials, furniture and other materials. Our IAQ assessments can stem from claims related to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) and other indoor environmental concerns. IAQ investigations are closely related to building ventilation, so our staff is experienced in the evaluation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC).
Our staff includes Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH), registered professional engineers, microbiologists toxicologists, safety engineers, and occupational medicine physicians.
