Professional Profile

Dr. Easley specializes in solid mechanics, biomechanics, finite element analysis (FEA), and mechanics of materials. Dr. Easley has extensive experience performing numerical analyses of consumer electronics and medical devices. Her doctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley focused on using microstructural imaging, experimental testing, and computational analysis to understand the relationship between bone structure and bone strength and the effects of disease and treatment on that relationship. Her earlier graduate work focused on design and analysis of orthopaedic biomedical devices.

Prior to joining Exponent, Dr. Easley worked as an intern at DePuy Orthopaedics in the Research and Development department. During her time there, she developed FEA-based surgical-planning software tools for predicting kinematic performance of knee replacement devices. She also has experience using shop equipment such as lathes and milling machines, and participated in the design and fabrication of a robot for the national F.I.R.S.T. competition.
