Exponent welcomes Mr. Dow to our Los Angeles office, where he will enhance our utility risk management, asset management, and wildfire analytics capabilities in our Construction Consulting practice
Exponent is pleased to welcome Adam Dow as a Principal in the Construction Consulting practice, based in our Los Angeles office. Mr. Dow has nearly 20 years of experience helping utilities and infrastructure organizations manage complex operational, asset, and wildfire risks through risk analytics, enterprise risk management, and digital transformation.
Mr. Dow specializes in wildfire risk modeling, enterprise risk management, asset management, AI/ML-enabled analytics, and risk-informed capital planning. Throughout his career, he has led enterprise-scale programs supporting utility infrastructure, translating climate, hazard, and asset data into actionable insights that inform capital investment, operational planning, regulatory strategy, and long-term resilience.
Before joining Exponent, Mr. Dow held senior leadership roles at a major electric utility, where he directed wildfire risk analytics and enterprise risk programs supporting multibillion-dollar capital portfolios. He also led digital transformation initiatives involving cloud platforms, AI/ML applications, ERP integration, and process modernization. Earlier in his career, he advised utility and nuclear power generation clients at a management consulting firm and worked as a nuclear engineer supporting safety analyses and asset enhancement projects for a nuclear technology company.
Mr. Dow earned an M.S.E. in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University and both an M.S.E. and B.S.E. in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences from the University of Michigan. He also has executive certifications in Risk Management from Stanford and Project Management from Villanova.
