Greg Cardoen Joins Exponent's Polymers & Chemistry Practice

Exponent welcomes new senior managing scientist to Philadelphia, expanding our industry expertise in materials science

With 17 years of industrial R&D experience in both small and large companies, Greg Cardoen, Ph.D., has a track record of breakthrough innovations with commercial impact. He brings deep polymer chemistry and materials science expertise, having worked in a variety of industries over the years including drug delivery, adhesives and coatings, home and personal care, and wires and cables, supporting the expansion of Exponent's robust Polymers & Chemistry practice capabilities.

Previously, Dr. Cardoen worked for 15 years at Dow Inc. where he led several teams to develop new IP-protected products and support customers' innovation and growth. He was responsible for developing the R&D strategy and pipeline, intellectual property strategy, customer interactions, and external partnerships, and he leveraged those opportunities to deliver breakthrough products to the market. He has represented the R&D function in business management teams and routinely collaborated with regulatory, product management, supply chain, legal, and manufacturing teams to support business growth.

Throughout his career, he has commercialized many new products in the personal care market and the wire and cable industry, including winning top product and people awards for sustainability and innovation. Dr. Cardoen has extensive expertise in polymer chemistry, materials science, scale-up, manufacturing and commercialization, complementing both Exponent's Polymers & Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering & Sciences capabilities and further enhancing our work in materials science.
