Over 500 of our approximately 800 consultants hold a doctorate in their field. No other company possesses the technical depth and breadth of our staff's experience.

Diversity of Projects

Exponent is one of the most unique and exciting consulting firms, and gives you the opportunity to seek out multidisciplinary projects and collaborations in more than 90 technical disciplines. Working here means you may be involved in as many as 50 projects per year, including some of today’s most prominent engineering and science challenges spanning multiple technical disciplines, industries, applications, and products.

Our offices contain the best available technologies, laboratories, and information that provide you with everything you need to be successful. You are encouraged to pursue relevant professional development opportunities such as conferences, publishing, teaching, professional licenses, certifications, professional organizations, training specific to your projects and goals, and more. We have a women’s leadership seminar series and discussion group (POWER), Professional Development Webinar series, as well as many internal professional development training opportunities. We offer a formal Group Mentoring Program whose mission is to educate high-potential consultants early in their careers on what they need to do over the next few years to succeed at Exponent and to build lasting relationships across the firm. You will not find an environment of greater learning!

Life Balance

We support a healthy balance both in and out of the office. Our staff are able to perform the majority of their work at our own offices. Your typical day will have you coming into an Exponent office, rather than working onsite at a client. Travel is often limited to an occasional client meeting, field inspection, or to attend an industry conference. Your schedule can often be flexed to accommodate family and personal priorities.

Client Management

Every member of our consulting staff has the opportunity to have in-depth client interactions. Our consultants are the ones who hold each and every client relationship at Exponent. However, your hands-on technical involvement on projects never stops, even as you develop your client management and business development skills.

Daily Life

At Exponent, variety is a way of life, and no two work days are alike. You will work in teams to quickly research difficult real world problems, perform analyses or tests, and provide clients with conclusions and workable solutions. You might run tests in the laboratory or read background documents on Monday, take field samples in remote locations like Alaska or Peru on Wednesday, and present your findings on Friday.
